Welcome Spring, it is the Cherry Blossoms season!
Each season bring a beauty of its own. Spring says hello in the most beautiful way. After a long winter in Vancouver, flowers and trees started to sprout bringing new beginnings and welcoming the colourful season.
People wait excited for that short period of the year where the city became prettier with shades of pink and white. There are over 90.000 flowering trees including more than 40.000 Japanese cherry flowering trees across the city.
And for you to enjoy this beauty of nature I would like to share with you my 3 favourite places to do a photo shoot with cherry blossoms in Downtown Vancouver:
1 – Stanley Park is my number 1 location to photograph; this park has everything & more and during cherry blossom season, you can find the trees close to Rose Garden, around Lost Lagoon, and close to the Japanese War Memorial. Easy access; about 10 min from downtown Vancouver.
2 – Art Phillips Park at Burrard Sky Train Station; the shades of pink and white give a big contrast with the city in the background. Access: Just outside of Burrard Station.
3 – Granville Island; is a cute location for photoshoot and you can find the trees along the eastern edge of the Granville Island seawall at False Creek. Access: bus #50 False Creek south/Waterfront Station will take you there.
Keep in mind that the blooming periods starts several days before the peak bloom date and can last as long as 14 days; however, frost or high temperatures combines with wind and/or rain can shorten this period
